Welcome to Florida Wildlife Reserve!
Florida Wildlife Reserve (FWR) is dedicated to the Preservation and Protection of native Florida wildlife displaced by development and habitat destruction. FWR is committed to giving all native species whose habitat and ecosystems are destroyed a place to be relocated if no suitable natural locations are available at that time. The Reserve’s mission is based on three objectives.
•Rescue, Rehabilitate, Repopulate:
•Preserve, Protect & Restore:
•Research & Educate:
Due to limited natural habitat left in Florida and maintaining healthy balanced ecosystems and wildlife population in parks, preserves, and remaining natural areas; not all displaced animals can be returned to “the wild”. For this reason FWR seeks to keep these animals from being culled or euthanized, giving them a place to live out their lives in a restored natural environment.
Preservation of natural habitat, flora, and fauna in its native state is mission one!
However, when it’s not possible, FWR seeks to work with developers to mitigate habitat loss and destruction of animals in that habitat being developed. When there is no opportunity for animals to remain in a location they will be relocated to other available parks, preserves, natural areas. Only in worst-case scenarios do animals go to FWR as their last hope.
Working in conjunction with Florida Wildlife Officials, Department of Fish and Game, Florida Wildlife Federation, and the Nature Conservancy, FWR forms an essential link to keeping native wildlife population from becoming endangered or extinct.

This site is dedicated to my Grandmother Maxine who devoted years of her life to preserving Florida's wild places and native creatures.
